Panko is the quintessential Japanese breadcrumb, famous for its light, airy, and ultra-crispy texture . Unlike traditional breadcrumbs, panko doesn't compact and offers a much more golden and delicate finish when fried.
Perfect for preparing tonkatsu, ebi fries, croquettes, nuggets, or even for gratinating vegetables and pasta . Its coarse grain allows the coating to absorb less oil, achieving lighter and crispier results.

1. Prepare the ingredients you want to bread (e.g. meat, fish, seafood, tofu or vegetables).
2. Dip them first in flour, then in beaten egg, and finally cover them well with panko.
3. Fry in hot oil (160–180 °C) until golden brown and crispy.
4. Remove and drain on absorbent paper before serving.
Advice:
Panko gives a lighter, crispier finish than traditional breadcrumbs. Ideal for tonkatsu, ebi fries, croquettes, or even as a topping for gratins.
